Most analysts don’t pay much attention to the short article attached above.
However, I deem it rather important and interesting, for the following reasons:
– India is experiencing quite a few serious problems, most self-inflicted such as: severe economic   downturn due to Modi’s government lack of courage to enact needy reforms, backlash from Jammu   and Kashmir’s cessation of special status (ironically not from the Muslim world, but from the report   of an European Parliament delegation after a recent visit to the area), loss of electoral support to   the incumbent BJP…
However, maritime cooperation with US in the South China Sea, almost immediately after refusing   to join the Beijing-led RCEP, and revitalization of the QUAD, clearly indicates that New Delhi, under   second Modi’s term, would take a more aggressive stance against Beijing, notwithstanding the Wuhan   or Baramaputra engagement between Xi and Modi…
– The US commits a colossal strategic “FUBAR” in sending just a low-level delegation to the most recent   ASEAN summit.
The sideline discussion to reactivate the QUAD with India, Japan and Australia; plus the SCS maritime   training gave me the impression that Washington realizes its mistake and is doing some damage control.
